RSV can take a lot of confidence from their display. Nick Walker winning 2, Ben Roberts with 1 which was a tightly fought match against Christine which went to a 5th game Ben just had enough to win it 14-12.
The doubles seemed to be heading RSV’s way as Nick and Ben took a 2-0 lead. But eventually the experience told, Gordon and Steve coming back to win 12-10 in the 5th.

Phoenix ‘A’ 8
EDF Energy 2
Some odd things happening at Phoenix when it comes to equipment as the match remarks state “Chris is taking the net home (it favoured him all night!), apart from when Andy caressed it. Regularly”. It’s those kinds of things which make me glad I’m in division 1...
Apart from that slight incident, a well contested and good spirited match from start to finish.
Dave Smith was on top form winning 3 from 3 which included two 5 game matches. Andy Browett and Chris East both won 2 for the home side.
EDF’s defence came from George Evans and Brian Cullis against Andy and Chris.
The doubles was quickly dealt in 3 games by Dave and Chris who took on Brian and George.

Civil Service ‘B’ 3
Redcliffe College 7
Redcliffe are running away from the rest of the pack in division 3 after another convincing win.
For Civil Service though, the credit must go to Paul Daniels who won all his matches, including beating the previously undefeated Vidas Rimkus.
However, Redcliffe were still too strong. Vidas, Richard Johnson and Andy Taylor all winning 2 which included a tight game between Andy and Phil Lewis with Andy just winning 12-10 in the 5th though the score could of gone either way as the lowest scoring game throughout that match was 11-8.
The doubles was another tight match. Paul Daniels and Martyn Brown battled Vidas and Andy but were beaten 11-7 in the 5th.
Division 4 –
Grange Baptist ‘B’ 9
STR ‘B’ 1
STR’s chances weren’t helped here as they could only field 2 players. Even with this though, Grange still had to go out and win the points.
Pete Jarrett and Nigel Emberson both gained maximums on the night and another 2 wins from John Patterson.
Harkeerit Kalsi was STR’s only win, beating John in the 5th game 11-8.
Stuart Carver and Harkeerit played against Nigel and Pete; A tight battle in which the momentum switched after each game. Eventually though the home side took the last game 11-5. A good display from Grange to push on from.

Margaret Pang and Liam James won a single point each. Liam was unlucky to lose against Lucy as he just lost out 12-10 in the 5th.
Steve and Sarah faced Margaret and Liam in the doubles. After Phoenix won the first 2 games, Rudford came back in style, winning the next 3 games.
St James 4
Phoenix ‘C’ 6
You would have thought a match that ended so close would have lots of tightly contested games. This was not the case here as every single match, apart from the doubles, had the minimum 3 games in it.
Alan Page took his usual 3 wins for St James. His biggest point loss was an 11-5 win in one of his games.
Chris Harley, Mike Burgees and Emannuel Byilingiro all won 2 for Phoenix.
