Chris Ball & Trevor Oliver beat Tily & Daniels 9-11, 11-4, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9
The last 3 games were nip and tuck all the way - very hard fought

William Dawe beat Jacoob Tily 11-7, 11-6, 10-12, 11-6

William Dawe & Alec Robinson beat Jason Million & Ann Barnes 9-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-5
Could have gone either way in the first 3 games - very close

Saturday Evening

The season finale which was held at Churchdown community centre in front of a crowd of around 100 saw a further 4 champions crowned with Gloucester City Table Tennis closed titles.

The first match saw Jason Million (Highnam) and Ann Barnes (Rudford) team up to beat Janie Kirby (Sir Thomas Riches) and William Dawe (Debenhams). This thrilling mixed doubles encounter resulted in Millions and Barnes just winning out in the fifth and final set.

Match two was the final of the consolation singles. This was played out between Jo Pigott (Highnam) and Alan Churchill (Optimists). This match saw underdog Pigott battling away only to lose out to Churchill who stole the win in four games.

In match three, friends and county teammates Mel Garlick (Rudford) and Ann Barnes (Rudford) completed for the glory of the ladies singles title. In this challenging match Barnes won through to retain her singles title.

The final match of the night saw William Dawe (Debenhams) beat Yacoob Tily (Civil Service) in four games to crown Dawe the Open singles champion for season 2008/2009.
