Nick won two matches in straight sets and then pushed the Oxford number one David Smart in three close games, unfortunately losing by two points in each one.
Ben won two matches, both in convincing fashion but also came unstuck against their number one, although he did manage to take a game off Smart.
Hamza came through a very tight affair with Simon Price and while victory was secured in three straight games, each one required two clear points. When Hamza went on to win against Niall Harris this ensured that two undefeated players would square off in the penultimate match of the day.
Both players did not disappoint as both Hamza and David Smart produced quality table tennis. In a tremendously exciting match Hamza managed to stay calm when the pressure was truly on and clinched the win by two extra points in the fifth. A memorable performance from Hamza and his best in the Midland League ....so far!
