West Midlands League (2010-2011 Season)

WEST MIDLANDS LEAGUE – JUNIORS - 2010/2011

Team: Ben Roberts, Hamza Bham, Elliot King
Date: 13 February 2011
Result: Gloucester  1   v  Birmingham   9

On paper this was a tough ask especially as we had lost the previous seasons fixture 10 – 0 and only took two solitary games along the way. This seasons fixture proved just has hard and whilst the scoreline only reflects one point taken, significant improvement was evident as the Gloucester Juniors won ten games in total.

Ben Roberts lost in four to both Lee Holtham and Ian Anson but then took Amit Ubhi, one of the most dominant players in the Junior Midland League, to a fifth game.

Hamza also lost in four to Amit and Lee and then proceeded to take Ian to a fifth game in a very hard fought and close match.

Although Elliot lost his three matches in straight games, five of the nine games that he played were lost by only a two-point margin.

Gloucester’s solitary point came when Hamza and Elliot combined to defeat the Birmingham pairing of Holtham and Anson 11 – 9 in the fifth.

The buffet was good though!
